05 September 2009 Ok folks. It is that time again. Richard and Dee Salinas are hosting the next reunion in San Antonio in 2010. They have already sent out the first newsletter, which is posted below... We will be doing some site updates this next week and will have a page up just for the reunion info as well as secure PayPal buttons to pay the banquet fees. Its official folks, we will be hosting the Albrook Reunion in July of 2010.Please join us on Friday, July 23rd through Sunday July 25th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in good ol’ San Antonio, Texas. Here are the basics: Organizers: Richard Salinas and Dee Salinas (Raciti) Location: San Antonio, Tx Albrook Reunion Fee =$65.00 per Adult $33.00 per Child. Hotel Info: Hotel rate=Single/Double occupancy = $100.00 Address: Crowne Plaza 1111 NE Loop 410 San Antonio, Texas 78209 For Individual Reservations call 210-625-9024 or 800-2CROWNE Method of Reservation/Cut-off Date It is the Hotels understanding that all reservations will be made by Individual Call Ins. With this in mind, all reservation requests must be made on or before 6/03/2010. After that date, reservations will be accepted at the prevailing room rate and on a space available basis. Please note: All reservations received via rooming list will be accepted without a credit card guarantee. However, it is the responsibility of each guest on the rooming list to contact the hotel immediately to secure his/her reservation with a valid credit card. All reservations that have not been secured with a credit card two weeks prior to arrival will be cancelled. We are encouraging everyone to reserve as early as possible because the last time we held this event in San Antonio, we went past the projected number of guests. Reserving early will increase your chance of getting a room at the discounted group rate and entrance to the banquet. A remit to address will be provided in the next newsletter for those who plan to write checks or send money orders. Also we will be providing a link that will allow you to electronically pay your fee in lieu of a check or money order. We are excited and looking forward to hearing back from everyone. Please remember to reach out to others who do not communicate via email. We will do our best to include the people still using snail mail and will be sending out a copy of the newsletter as time and money allow. Best regards, Richard Salinas and Diana Salinas-Raciti Your 2010 Albrook Reunion Hosts! If you would like to see some pictures of the past reunions, go to the Gallery.

| In 1991, Kiki Gonzales and Bea Garza (Albrook, early to mid '70's) organized an Albrook reunion in Dallas. My entire family attended and because of this event, many individuals began asking for future reunions. Kiki and Bea did a tremendous job and I'm not sure they realized at the time that they were starting a tradition. They passed the torch and Derek Nelson took over in 1994, and the next reunion was held in Las Vegas. My older brothers and my parents attended. I am told it was an event. In July of 1998, my brother Robert hosted the reunion in San Antonio. Jose, along with Charlie Garcia and Pete Copeskey, hosted the Tucson reunion in July of 2000. The Aguirre's hosted a reunion in Albuquerque in 2002 and there was a reunion in 2004. Robert hosted the last reunions recently in San Antonio in 2006 and in Las Vegas in 2008. Bea's sister, Sara (Garza) Verville, helped Robert organize the Vegas Reunion in 2008 which, without their help, could not have happened. All of the reunions have been memorable events and my family and I look forward to each reunion. My brother Rich along with my sister Dee have signed up to host the next reunion in San Antonio so stay tuned for the next chapter... | |||
