22 August 2008

Still getting over the effects of the Vegas Reunion. I had a blast. All of the Salinas's were accounted for and Jose announced that he made General. Thanks to Robert Salinas and Sara Verville for making this happen. Those of you who made it, I hope you take the time to add some comments in the Guestbook. Also, if you took pictures, please email them to Robert and we will post them in our Gallery.

Wow. Time sure does fly. I have been remiss in posting Robert's last few updates, so here is the last one he sent out and probably the last update before the big event:

Hi all,

We ran into some logistics problems with the buffet setup and DJ setup
so
we are going to start the Dinner on Saturday an hour early. Note the
start
time for the dinner/banquet is now 6PM.  Also make sure to check your
emails frequently we are trying to get them to let us check in early on
Friday, if this happens we may be able to open the Parlor suite earlier.

A second reminder, we will be collecting an additional $10 per person
when
you pick up your registration envelopes.  I just want to make sure
everyone is aware of this and no one is surprised when they are asked to
contribute.

Agenda.

Friday:
8AM - 3PM:  Check in (free time-someone hit the jackpot)
3:30PM - 11AM Saturday:  Parlor Suite #1410 (we will have Beer, sodas
and
water)
6PM - 8PM:  Snacks will be provided

Buffalo Wings
Taquitos with Salsa
Tortilla Chips
Salsa
Guacamole

Saturday:
8AM - 11AM:  Parlor Suite #1410 (Parlor suite will be shut down at 11AM)
11AM - 7PM: Free time
6PM - 6:30PM:  Ballroom A/B, Presentation of the colors (Nellis Air
Force
Base honor guard), Singing of the National Anthem (Ruth Salinas),
Opening
Prayer (Ray de la Torre) opening comments (Robert Salinas).

**NOTE** The honor guard will show up at 5:30 for anyone who would like
to
have their pictures taken with the group.

Alright folks. The Online Payments is fully functional. So those of you who don't like mailing your payments or want to pay with a credit card, go to the Online Payments Center and pay for your Banquet tickets on this site. Info is also posted on the Banquet Fees.

We are very close to rolling out our online payments via PayPal so that you can pay for your Las Vegas'08 Reunion banquet fees through our site. Info will be posted on this page when we are ready.

Our account will accept Cash (requires PayPal account) or Credit Card payments (SSL secured transactions via PayPal - no PayPal account required). Since all the transactions are handled via PayPal, we will not store or retrieve any credit card or PayPal account info on this site.

The only shortcoming is that PayPal charges fees of 2.9% plus $0.30 for each transaction. We will have to pass these fees on to you. To avoid these fees, you can print out the registration form and mail it along with your cash or check payment to Robert. Below is a listing of the total cost of the banquet fees by number of person attending:

OK. Robert has set the Banquet Fees and signed the contract for Circus Circus so Hotel arrangements are set.

Ed Garza has provided discounts for travel through American Airlines Group and Meeting Travel.

Ed has also arranged for discounts through AVIS Rent A CAR.

The 15th is the official starting date for the reunion, with most people arriving that day. However, Robert and I, and our families, will be arriving on the 14th for those of you looking to get in a day early.

The banquet is scheduled for the 16th.
